LESS IS MORE , MORE IS LESS.

LESS IS MORE , MORE IS LESS... Honestly, This Is The Most Overated Phrase used By Designers Nowadays. I Really Got Nothing About Designers Sticking By That Idea, But Personally " Thinking Outside The Box " Is Definitely Is Much More Of My Style. Opions, Opions.

This Is A Perfect Exampe How The Term Less Is More Is Properly Concducted. Beautifully Done, Egelant and Most of All Simple Yet Stylish.

( Source ; Less Is More Design )
LESS IS MORE, The Guys From Apple Really Stood A Firm Ground Based On That Idea. They Deliver The Most Sophisticated Machine In Simple User Friendly Device. The Colour Range Are Black & White & The Stylish Sleek Design Really Give Apple's Product Some Edge Compared To Other Products In The Market.

MORE IS LESS, Imagine If The iPhone Comes In Rave Colours and Have Cramped Up Design Pattern - It's A Disaster!

I Think There No Other Way To Explain LESS IS MORE, MORE IS LESS Than To See It Being Implicated On Innovative Products. Apple Product To Be Exact, Steve Jobs & The Apple Team Are Heroes In The Technology Industries.
Final Words

Less Is More ; The Minimal Output Which Delivers More, As A Designers You Have A Glimpse Of Chance To Convey Your Message. You Should Know How To Keep The Real Focus From Minor Distractions, Thus Showing More Info.

More Is Less ; For Me It Means That DISTRACTIONS & CLUTTERS. No Matter What Design Are You Working On, You Must Not Clutter The Viewer's Eyes As It Will Distract Them From Seeing The Overall Design.

BLOG ASSIGNMENT 3 ; LE MODULOR

Some Artwork Related To Le Modulor, I Accidently Googled Imaged It and This Images Popped Up. This Is Quite Interesting, This Set Of Images Really Sparked Me To Dig More On Le Modulor.

A- Via neineye.wordpress.com
There Was A Book Published About Le Modulor and Based On The Content It's About A Guy Named LE CORBUSIER Which Developed A Measurement Which Become Known As MODULOR. Le Modulor Was Le Corbusier's Brainchild Theory , Calulations, Rules - That Would Immortalize His Name Amongst Architechtural Titans and Would Long Inspire.

Well, This Is An Interesting Line.

" Based On The Golden Section & Fibonacci Numbers & Also Using The Physical Dimensions Of The Average Human "
I Swear It's On The Tip Of My Tongue That I Can Name Another Artist using The Same Theory Concept Applied To His Art. But I/m Gonna Talk More On This Deeper On.

Hint / Spoiler : Vinci, Vitruvian , Mona
This Is Le Corbusier ; Or His Birth Name Charles-Édouard Jeanneret. Le Corbusier Adopted That Nickname From A Distance Ancestor & Decided To Keep It.

He's A Swiss Architect, Designer, Urbanist, Writer and Painter, Famous For Being One Of The Pioneers Of What Now Is Called Modern Achitechture.

Le Corbusier Was Greatly Credit For Several Architechture Achievements, Heavily Influencing The Maximum Use Of Space,A

As Stated That He Was An Architect, Designer, Painter. The Striking Resemblence Of An Iconic Artist Strikes Me Once Again As His Art Principals Revolutionizes How The Later Generations Do Their Work and Draw Influences From.
Noteable Works Throughout The Years

Le Corbusier developed the Modulor in the long tradition of Vitruvius, Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, the work of Leone Battista Alberti, and other attempts to discover mathematical proportions in the human body and then to use that knowledge to improve both the appearance and function of architecture.[1] The system is based on human measurements, the double unit, the Fibonacci numbers, and the golden ratio. Le Corbusier described it as a "range of harmonious measurements to suit the human scale, universally applicable to architecture and to mechanical things."

No Wonder That Le Corbusier's Theory Sounds So Familiar, He Somehow "Improved & Improvised" Leonardo's Ratio Calculations On The Human's Body and Adapted It To Modern Architechture.  As Quoted By Le Corbusier,  "range of harmonious measurements to suit the human scale, universally applicable to architecture and to mechanical things."

FORM FOLLOW FUNCTIONS

Frankly Speaking I Have No Idea What To Write For This Assignment, I've Googled Thru The Internet and Some Of The Explanation Makes Sense. So One Day While Checking Out Some Shoes In A Nike Store, I Stumbled Upon An Ad For Nike's Air Max Premium 90....

Air Max 90

"Form follows function. Truth in materials. This was the guiding ethos for the Air Max. Tinker Hatfield believed you should see what's propelling you forward. That led to the first Air Max and the second–the Air Max 90–four years later. It took the first version literally to the max."

Hmmm, This Is Interesting.... As Nike Intreprets Their Design Based On This Forms Follow Function. Is It A Theory Or Somesort? A Formula? An Idea?

The Images Below Are Some Shoes Examples That Was Designed Base On The Form Follow Function " Theory ".
Most Of The Googled Result Of Form Follow Functions Are Kinda Complicated To Understand and Some Of Them Are Confusing. I Decided To Do A Research On This Topic From Nike's Point Of View As It Gives More Understanding and The Relativity Is There.

The Term Form Follows Function Was Coined By Louis Sullivan. Also Dubbed As " America's First Truly Modern Architects " . The Notion Formss Follow Function Is Being A Building's Purpose Should Guide It's Design.

To Put It Into Much Simpler Words,  A Design Which Suites It's Purpose.

The Person Above Is Tom Stites, With The Same Concept Of Form Follow Funtions He Implied It To Moden Improvements In Nike's Golf Equipment. Nike's Blazed Into The Golf Industry Successfully, As One Of Nike's Revered Success In Producing Products That People Seems To Relate To. In Relation With The Design To The Usage and Purpose - In Other Words, Form Follow Functions.
Final Words ; Basically Forms Follow Fucntion Is A Process ( Or Theory ) Whereby The Product Will Be Design According To It's Needs Or Purpose, Just As Nike Did With Their Successful Line Of Sport Products.
